The Real Impact of Contact Lens Wear
When discussing the advantages of contact lenses, two aspects often come to mind: improved vision and a better appearance. Indeed, over 80 of people state that they feel attractive when wearing contacts. This is excellent news; however, contact lens wearers report numerous additional benefits beyond physical appearance. People of various ages and gers acknowledge that contact lenses empower them in unique ways while enhancing their quality of life.
Deeper Emotional Benefits
A recent global online survey with over 35,000 participants, including 5,347 contact lens wearers, delved into the deeper emotional benefits people gn from wearing contacts. The findings revealed some intriguing insights.
Wearing contacts makes individuals feel more self-assured and confident, as evidenced by over 80 of surveyed respondents agreeing that it boosts their confidence. It's important to note that feeling self-assured doesn't necessarily mean dressing up or applying heavy makeup; nearly 90 also concur that they look natural when wearing contact lenses.
Contact lens wear has a profound impact on life quality, as almost everyone believes it enables them to live their lives authentically. This is particularly true for those who use contacts more frequently 4-7 times per week. They showed higher agreement with benefits compared to average respondents. The impact was notably high across all categories related to improved quality of life, increased self-confidence, better perception of vision versus glasses, and so on.
The survey involved a diverse group of participants, including men and women who agreed that wearing contact lenses makes them feel more attractive, confident, youthful, and like their true selves. Age groups also showed striking similarities in perceived benefits.
There is still room for improvement as most people requiring vision correction continue to wear glasses only. If you're considering the advantages of contact lens wear but haven't made the switch yet, talk to your eye care professional about scheduling a contact lens fitting examination.
What Can You Expect as a Contact Lens Wearer?
Around 8 out of 10 individuals agree that they see better with contacts than with glasses. The majority also feels more like themselves wearing contacts compared to glasses.
Contact lenses offer a wide range of benefits that affect men and women alike, regardless of age. If you're not benefiting from these rewards yet, speak to your eye care professional today.
